Rainwall at Preshute Primary School, Manton

Rainwall at Preshute Primary School, Manton
Pro-Grow is glad to share pictures from the 'rainwall' built at Preshute Primary School, Manton.
Wilts was designed by Wendy Allen for the charity ARK (Action for the River Kennet).

The aim was to raise awareness of sustainable rainwater management, using colourful curved downpipes with built-in planters and clear sections, attracting attention to the flow of rainwater.
The downpipes discharge into a water butt (to conserve water), down rain chains and into four stormwater planters. These are troughs filled with a mixture of TopSoil and our Pro-Grow Soil Conditioner, and will be planted with suitable plants for the aspect and variable soil conditions.

Overall this SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage) technique helps to reduce flash flooding.
There are also plans for a small rain garden on the site, where Pro-Grow will also be used to improve existing soil.
