Ideal for All Compost Donation
We have had the pleasure of supporting the Ideal for All team recently with a donation of 10 tonnes of loose Soil Conditioner Compost for their Salop Drive Market Garden.
Ideal for All’s garden sites have been developed by disabled people with diverse needs in mind, and are used all year round. Anyone with an interest in being outdoors, meeting new people and trying something new can get involved. Ideal for All supports people with limited mobility, specific learning needs, disabilities or mental health issues when working in the gardens, through the use of adapted tools, techniques and friendly staff teams.
The compost delivered by Veolia and Pro-Grow will be used at the Salop Drive Market Garden in Oldbury to level out and add nutrients to the soil in the outdoor growing area. This site is a three acre working market garden and local food project.
Lucy from the Pro-Grow team was on site for the delivery and had the opportunity to tour the site with Ideal for All’s Senior Horticulturist Jamie Upton Speed.
“It was lovely to see the site and take the tour with Jamie, which included tasting fresh broad beans straight from the pod! The polytunnels were particularly impressive and I really loved learning about the Vampire Chillies that the team has grown. Their wild garden was buzzing with biodiversity and the willow sculptures and tunnels are very impressive. Hat’s off to the team, they’re doing a wonderful job and I’m thrilled we’ve been able to be involved in supporting the site and users” - Lucy, Pro-Grow Sales and Logistics Manager
